Another good runout tonight for the Steelmen as they took on a Cardiff Met XI. A few new signings had the opportunity for a runout in what was a fast end to end encounter.
City opened the scoring in the 1st half when returning striker Kareem Leigh caught the Met keeper off his line and scored from wide out on the right before Met levelled late in the half.
City had to defend for long periods in the 2nd half as the Students piled on the pressure, but could not find the net a second time.
City took the lead again when a triallist lashed a volley into the top left corner of the Met goal after a corner was cleared. Then with 10 minutes left the game was finished off with a free kick out on the left, which saw Flynn shoot across goal into the bottom right corner.
It was more of a fitness excercise than anything tonight, but the players are also having to get used to a new system of play.
